Soo’s Story
“Be the change you wish to see in the world.”
Once upon a time, in a land called South Korea, my life took an unexpected turn at the age of seven. My parents set out on a bold journey, relocating our family—my older brother and me included—to a whole new world: America.
We arrived in Queens, New York, where I quickly noticed the stark contrasts between my past and present. The language, the food, even the way I looked—all different. Wanting to fit in, I slowly distanced myself from my roots. I shortened my name to Soo, experimented with blonde hair, and did everything I could to blend into my new surroundings.
But what I didn't realize then was that I wasn't just living in one world—I was navigating multiple dimensions. My Korean heritage and my American upbringing weren’t opposing forces but parallel realities, each offering unique experiences and perspectives. As I grew up, I learned to move between them, embracing both instead of choosing just one.
This realization shaped my journey. Working in global organizations focused on people, I saw firsthand the power of bridging cultures. I wasn’t confined to a single identity—I was multi-dimensional, carrying the richness of different worlds within me.
Now, though WE ARE MULTI, I channel this experience into helping others embrace their own multidimensional identities. Because the beauty of our existence isn’t in fitting into one mold—it’s in the endless possibilities that unfold when we embrace every part of who we are.
